I’m Pietro D’Amico.
I own the Il Frantolio olive oil mill.
This is a business where if you have the right
level of passion and love, everything is easier.
It is possible to get the
higher quality olive oil you want.
We process around 30-5,000 tons of olives:
80% from other growers and 20% our own olives.
Our farm is organic, with 70 different olive varieties.
The olives are all handpicked or picked with shakers,
and the process takes place within a maximum 6-12 hours.
We have continuous processing of our olives.
Our main problem is the disposal of black water.
We are forced to spread
the black water in the fields,
We are therefore considering converting our production
to two phases, so we can get rid of this water responsibly.
I’m deeply close to Alfa Laval, because Alfa Laval has been
continuously renewing their technology since 1973.
Today the main need is to have decanters with
maximum efficiency, to be technologically up-to-date,
and reduce the water consumption
in the process as much as possible.
We are thankful for Alfa Laval, because the company has always
helped us with great collaboration, dialogue and teamwork.
Thanks to our feedback, Alfa Laval can
make technological improvements,
which in turn has helped us
to grow and win prizes.
Everything works if there is
synergy and collaboration.
We have lots of Alfa Laval equipment: 12 high speed
separators, malaxers, crushers, olive washers.
All of it comes from Alfa Laval.
