Whilst pharmaceutical
companies work their magic
to make medicines that
cure or manage diseases,
and the biotechnology
industry harnesses cellular
and biomolecular processes to
develop technologies and products
that help improve our lives
and the health of our planet.
We, at Alfa Laval believe in creating
better everyday conditions
for the Pharma & Biotech
industry so together,
we can help even more people
towards a healthier and happier life.
In 1879, Gustaf de Laval demonstrated
the world’s first separator in Stockholm.
This in turn was the beginning of
Alfa Laval, as we know it today.
In 1888 we sold our first pump.
This was the beginning of
the development of a range of products
designed to support
the process of fluid handling,
our pumps are part of a wide range of
products delivering sustainable performance
to the pharma and biotech industry,
which in turn contributes to
global health and well-being.
In 1938, we built our first heat exchanger,
aiming to improve energy efficiency
and lowering the need for fossil fuels.
As the world’s demand for
energy continues to increase,
Alfa Laval continues to
develop heat exchangers
that are more efficient than
alternative technologies,
reducing costs,
and carbon emissions.
